First they came...

Pastor Martin Niemoller (1892-1984) was an ardent nationalist and prominent Protestant pastor who emerged as an outspoken public foe of Adolf Hitler and spent the last 7 years of Nazi rule in concentration camps.

Niemöller is perhaps best remembered for the quotation:

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out -- Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out -- Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out -- Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.

BN, you have forever lost my generation's trust

I am deeply saddened by Teoh Beng Hock's death. Politics should not have to be so tragic. I belief politics is always about competition of policy and ideas and about how best we could bring the nation to the greater height. But that belief shattered with the death of a young political sec. Million of questions waiting to be answered, but will we ever get the answer? I am speechless. Where do I begin? Malaysian politics is getting heavier by the day or shall I say darker by the day with BN desperately using any means to hold on to the power. And along the way, a young life had to be sacrificed. It's so tragic. I think Teoh would not want us to cry for him, but cry for ourselves. Cry for our numbness, cry for our inaction, cry for our soul. We rather keep Najib's goodies than demand for more openness, for abolishment of draconian laws, and for REAL CHANGE...

Let Teoh's death be the tipping point of the nation's greater change towards better governance.
